Our story began in 2007, when Michelle and Jim Otto purchased a small 60‑unit facility in rural Missouri. With no experience, a handwritten ledger, a green postcard for collecting payments, and a loan pulled from their home equity, they stepped into the world of self‑storage with determination and grit.

What started as a leap of faith became a family legacy. Still today, the Ottos own that same facility, now expanded to 180 units, and continue to operate it hands‑on. Their daughter Jessika, who grew up in the business, now serves as our VP of Operations and Product Owner with 10 years of industry experience and a modern operator’s perspective.

Nearly 20 years later, the lessons learned from that first facility shape everything we build. 6Storage was created because owners deserve simple, scalable software built by people who have lived the challenges themselves.
